WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES A CHURCH MAKE ANYWAY?
As a church we provide encouragement and counsel to many people who are struggling with life challenges. We take time to visit the sick and shut-ins, and those in hospitals. We look for opportunities to help those who don’t have much. We have distributed 100 “Care-packages” for the homeless; and Christmas presents to children in other counties who don’t receive anything on Christmas.
We have provided a safe, fun place for youth in the community to get off the streets and find encouragement; friendship; and the hope of knowing God’s best for their lives. We have been doing this for at least 6 years.
Our church community has become an extended family for many who connect here. For some, we are the only family that they have. We believe that it is our responsibility to pray for and help those families that are struggling. We do this by being available in many ways as friends; in addition to providing professional Pastoral counseling free of charge. Pre-marital counseling is also available free of charge.
As a church we consider it a privilege to pray for the sick. It is actually a biblical responsibility that the Lord has entrusted to His Church. We have been intentional about training people to do this in a responsible way, and we have seen “good fruits” from our efforts. The Lord answers prayer.
Ultimately we believe that the hope that Jesus brings to people’s lives is priceless. People who have hope and purpose for their lives make much better neighbors and community servants.
