Hudson Vineyard Church

300 75th St. • North Bergen, NJ 07047

was birthed out of a gathering that took place in the living room of someone who had a heart for a new Vineyard church in our area.  We love what God is doing here on Sundays in the building that He has provided for us.  But we have always had other groups in addition to our Sunday morning Worship Service.

Why do we do this?

The primary purpose of small group gatherings is to strengthen, encourage, and build one another up in our faith.

It’s the same model found in the book of Acts 2: 42, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer”:

We give attention to the Word of God.
We seek the Lord in prayer and worship
He shows up uniquely in the community of His people.

In our time here, our groups have had different themes including:

“Healing is a Choice.”
“Life in the Spirit.”
“Unshakable:  Standing Strong when things go Wrong.”
“Guy groups dealing with temptation issues and
“Ladies’ groups” sharing struggles, bonding, and talking about faith.

Our vision for these types of groups is to provide as many as we need to continue to strengthen, encourage, and build one another up in our faith

We currently have two smaller groups (Jesus said something about 2 or 3 gathering in His name) that also serve as a community outreach, bringing the love and truth of Jesus to those who are shut-in and unable to leave their homes easily.

Our groups run every year from March to June and then again from September to December.

Many of us just finished James Bryan Smith’s “The Good and Beautiful God” and we will continue his “Apprentice Series,” which includes “The Good and Beautiful Life” and “The Good and Beautiful Community.” These small group studies focus on helping us as Christians to understand who God is, what it means to be a Christian and what it means to live in community as a part of God’s kingdom.
